Trading Kollektivet is a YouTube channel that shares analyses of stocks, cryptocurrencies, and currency pairs completely free of charge. The analyses are based on Elliott Wave Theory and are combined with other methods. The channel’s goal is to help its followers make more well-informed decisions in their trading of various stocks and financial instruments.

I had the opportunity to create a short intro sequence for the YouTube channel TradingKollektivet to start all of their videos. The client had an idea of what he wanted to happen in the intro and needed help bringing his vision to life. My role in this project was to design a fitting style, produce all visual content and animate the video, from storyboard to finished product.

The client had a rather playful idea for the video with a rocket and a caricature of himself, but also wanted a technical beginning with his signature curve in a candlestick chart. The two parts were also meant to overlap each other.

I wanted to give the video a cozy feel as a contrast to the original look of the graphs , so I created a background for the technical elements to land in. Since it’s a Swedish company, I designed a pine forest environment where both parts could meet.

The only existing visual material I had to work with was the burgundy logo, so I chose to build a fairly monochromatic palette around it and added a complementary blue color to pop though the red tones. For the final look, I used different brush strokes for texture and added several effects to soften the sharp shapes and give the visuals a more lively feel.
